Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of services provided by HostUnion. By using our services, you agree to these Terms. We may amend these Terms at any time. It is your responsibility to check this page regularly for updates.

Company & Hosting Platform

HostUnion is a UK-based hosting provider. Our hosting platform is powered by 20i, a UK infrastructure provider. Use of our hosting services must comply with UK law and the policies outlined in these Terms.

Prohibited Use

You may not use our services to:

  • Violate any law or regulation
  • Transmit threats or encouragement of harm or damage
  • Conduct fraud or financial scams
  • Distribute spam, bulk email, or unsolicited marketing
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights, including copyrighted material, trademarks or patents
  • Host adult content, pornography, or IRC servers
  • Run bots, daemons, torrents, or file-sharing systems
  • Abuse SSH or attempt to breach server security
  • Upload harmful code including viruses, malware or spyware
  • Promote harassment, violence, or illegal activity
  • Operate proxy services, cloud sync platforms, or use excessive server resources

Accounts in violation may be suspended or terminated without notice. We reserve the right to determine what constitutes a breach.

Resource Use

Hosting accounts operate on shared infrastructure. Excessive use of bandwidth, CPU, or storage may impact other users and result in restriction or suspension.

Forbidden activities include:

  • Using over 10% of total platform processing at any time
  • Running unattended background tasks or daemons
  • Hosting mirror sites or running download-heavy content without prior approval
  • Hosting or linking to streaming, video, or audio downloaders

MySQL databases are limited to 1024MB. Hosting accounts must not be used as offsite backup or for storage unrelated to live websites.

Security & Backups

  • You agree to use strong passwords and secure access methods (e.g. SSH over telnet)
  • You are responsible for backing up your content regularly
  • We take daily server backups, but this does not replace your own responsibility to safeguard your data

Support

Support level depends on your hosting plan. We provide basic email support for standard accounts and offer priority support on higher tiers. Abuse of support channels may result in limited access.

Refunds & Cancellations

  • Payments are non-refundable unless stated in writing
  • We may offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee on certain plans
  • If you cancel a service during a prepaid term, no refund will be given for unused time
  • Accounts found in violation of these Terms will not be eligible for refunds

Billing

  • Services are billed in advance
  • Failure to pay invoices on time may result in suspension or deletion after 7 days
  • All prices are subject to change with 30 days’ notice

Legal Compliance

You are responsible for ensuring that your content and use of services comply with all relevant laws. This includes data protection, copyright, and privacy obligations.

Content Restrictions

You may not host or link to:

  • Pirated software, warez, hacking tools or password crackers
  • Gambling, hate speech, or defamatory content
  • Any content in violation of copyright, patent, or trademark rights
  • Any material deemed abusive, profane, or obscene

Termination

We may suspend or cancel services if:

  • You fail to pay
  • You violate these Terms
  • We believe your actions may harm the platform or other customers

In cases of dedicated servers or contracted services, we reserve the right to collect payment for the remainder of the term if cancellation occurs without resolution.

Limitation of Liability

HostUnion shall not be held responsible for data loss, interruption of service, or any damages beyond the value of the service fees paid for the previous 30 days. We are not liable for indirect, special or consequential damages.

Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
